Hom Duan หอมด่วน 曼谷街頭清邁味道

I have never been ChiangMai yet so far,

but the Khao Soi Gai from Hom Duan (หอมด่วน) did fly my taste to this Northern old town!

到目前為止, 我是還未有到過清邁的。 可是, Hom Duan (หอมด่วน) 的Khao Soi (泰北金麵)卻真的能把我的味蕾帶到這個泰北古城。

I found this homey Northern Thai style restaurant on one morning when i was wandering along soi Ekamai and looking for local stuff to eat.

At my first sight seeing the lovely painting on the wall, i thought this was a homey style cafe. Then i saw the little board next to the door writing that they are selling Northern style Thai food and with Khao Soi . i am in then!

某個上午正在 Ekkamai Road 慢走著, 正在想這樣一帶哪裡有些地道的東西吃時, 抬頭一看身旁正有一家咖啡室似的小餐廳。被牆上的可愛卡通吸引了我的視線, 快要走過店子時看看門前的黑板寫著這裡原來是一家以泰北食物 ( 當然包括Khao Soi)為主打小餐館, 就走進去一試吧!

I barely had Khao Soi before my first visit here, only knew it is a famous dish in Northern Thailand especially Chiangmai. (Only remember i tried a little bit at The Local restaurant when it is part of the appetizer mix)

末有來過Hom Duan 之前, 印象中都沒甚麼機會真正吃過 Khao Soi , 只知道這是泰北清邁那邊很有名的麵食。(印象中只有多年前在 The Local 餐廳的前菜拼盤中吃過一點點)

How's Khao Soi here? Well there is strong coconut flavor yellow curry while the noodles and the chicken is fully enriched with it. Those crispy egg noodles on the top part are certainly the best thing of a Khao soi !

那這裡的Khao Soi 味道如何? 對, 有頗濃的椰子味咖哩湯底, 蛋麵和雞腿都滲滿了這個香濃味道, 而那些在頂部仍是脆脆的蛋麵更是精萃所在!

I can't tell if it is the authentic taste of Khao Soi should be, but i believe it is ! To me, this Khao Soi is really a great and tasty one!

我不敢說這個是最地道的泰北味道, 但我相信這是! 對我來說, 這個khao soi gai 真的是很美味!

On my second visit, i brought with my Isan-Thai girl (whom she had also never been to Chiangmai either!) to try with the food here.

不久很的第二次來訪, 我帶我那泰東北Isan-thai 女朋友 (其實連她也沒有去過清邁一帶)來一齊試試這裡的東西。今次有兩個人, 那當然可以試吃更多菜式了!

With my personal Thai Translator here, we also tried some different choices from the high varieties Khao Gaeng ( i.e. mixed choices with steam rice). I also gotta let her try the khao soi here Indeed, the taste of their Khao soi seems like is still in my tounge when i was approaching here !

既然有我的私人泰文翻譯員在, 當然由她去點菜吧, 她點了一些現成的咖哩菜式, 泰文叫 Khao Gaeng, 即是把不同的咖哩菜式與飯在一起吃 (大概跟香港的兩餸飯差不多)。當然我也想她試試這裡的khao soi, 因為我差不多來到這裡已經很想著這裡的khao soi 味道了!

Another remarkable dish here is the Gaeng hang lay Moo แกงฮังเลหมู (Nothern Thai style curry with pork). I think it is a bit similar to Massaman Curry but the taste is much stronger and with some different for sure.

這裡的泰北咖哩豬腩 Gaeng hang lay Moo แกงฮังเลหมู 也跟 Khao soi 一樣做得非常之色, 有點像Massaman Curry 但味道更濃也當然有點不同吧!

Food here are selling at affordable price and I also found there are quite many people who live or work her around would come here ordering Khao Gaeng for take-away. Everyone here are seems quite familiar with the very friendly staff here, such a warm and homey feeling!

這裡的食品價格都是很平民, 我看見也有不少在附近工作或居住的當地人會在這裡買些咖哩外賣(Khao Gaeng) 。跟店員在說有笑很熟悉, 有種很溫暖的感覺。

I tole one of the ladies who run this restaurant that i really like the lovely comic drawing of them . it really looks cute and she thanks me with a lovely smile.

我跟其中的一位姐姐說, 很喜歡另牆身有著她們四位打理餐廳負責人的漫畫畫像, 挺可愛的!

I captured this smiley face of her into of my travel photography collections. 當時, 在得到她的同意下, 就把這一刻留在我的泰國遊歷中的其中一格。

On my 2nd visit, i showed her this photo i posted on Instagram and using my limited speaking Thai to ask her , "พี่จำได้ไหม?" ( Madam, do you remember this?)

She answered "จำได้" ( I remember !)

就在第二次到訪時, 我展示出這一張我曾經放在我個人instagram 的圖片, 用我有限的泰文問她 "พี่จำได้ไหม?" ( 大姐, 你還記得這(相片)嗎?)

"จำได้" ( 記得!)

We both smiled. 我們都笑了!
